Adv. Dor Liond coordinates the firm’s activity in the fields of defamation, media and communications, intellectual property, internet law and digital information law.
Dor is a litigator with approximately 20 years of experience representing media organizations, newspapers, news websites, journalists, commercial companies and public figures in complex proceedings involving defamation, copyright, privacy, class actions, consumer protection, media and digital law. His experience includes handling defamation and copyright claims, representing clients in class actions in the fields of consumer protection and media, and representing clients in proceedings with public and administrative-law aspects, including petitions to the High Court of Justice.
Alongside his litigation practice, Dor provides ongoing, close legal counsel to media organizations, newspapers and news websites, broadcasters and production companies. In this capacity, he advises on journalistic publications from the early stages of their development and counsels editors, reporters, producers and managers on the full range of relevant issues, including defamation, privacy, copyright, journalistic privilege, publication bans, freedom of information, journalistic ethics and legal risk management in publication.
Dor has a deep understanding of the business and technological environment in which media and content organizations operate. He also advises them on strategic issues relating to the development of their digital activity, the commercial use of content and data, licensing and distribution models, and the relationships among content owners, technology platforms and artificial intelligence systems. In this framework, he advises, among other things, on content licensing and use agreements, data transactions in the AI space, engagements with technology and software providers, advertising, distribution and commercial cooperation agreements, publishing agreements, regulatory issues in the communications and internet fields, and event and conference production agreements.
Dor completed his internship at S. Horowitz & Co., where he practiced litigation in administrative law, planning and construction.
