Adv. Yaakov Oz is an expert in privacy law, cybersecurity, and data protection. He advises clients across a wide range of sectors—including financial institutions, local authorities, hospitals, and technology and cybersecurity companies—on a broad spectrum of regulatory and technological issues. His work includes developing organizational data protection policies, conducting privacy and cybersecurity due diligence assessments, advising on agreements involving data transfer and information security, and providing strategic guidance to reduce legal exposure from cyberattacks and data breach incidents.

In addition to his professional practice, Yaakov serves as the (co-)chair of the Privacy Protection Committee at the Israeli Bar Association. He founded and leads the Privacy Protection Officer training course at the Bar Association, as well as the joint Privacy Protection Officer course offered by the Technion and the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority. Adv. Oz has been involved for many years in legislative processes to amend the Privacy Protection Law, initiated a legislative proposal to include privacy as a cause of action under the jurisdiction of the labor courts, and participates in academic research on workplace privacy.

Yaakov also established and leads the legal privacy professionals’ community, which engages in a wide array of activities, including responses to legislative proposals, participation in roundtable discussions with the Privacy Protection Authority, and promotion of innovative regulatory thinking.

His combination of broad legal expertise, deep technological understanding, and extensive regulatory involvement enables Yaakov to provide clients with top-tier professional advice—both strategically and practically.
